George J. 'Yuka' Mraovich, 85, passed away July 8, 2009. Survived by his brother, Emil (Mary Ann) Mravich; niece, Carol (Phil) Mandarich; nephew, Mike Mravich; grandnephews, Paul (Jennifer) Mandarich and Ryan (Joni) Mandarich; grandniece, Jennifer Mravich; and numerous cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Mildred Mraovich; and two brothers, John and Nick Mraovich. George was born June 24, 1924, in Pueblo, Colo. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church and United Steelworkers Union #2102. Special thanks to the staff at Life Care Center and the nursing staff at St. Mary Corwin I.C.U. for all the loving care they gave George. At his request, there will be no viewing. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2009, St Francis Xavier Church, 611 Logan Ave., with the Reverend Fr. Ben Bacino as celebrant. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Diabetes Foundation or Sangre de Cristo Hospice through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors, 1317 N. Main St., Pueblo, Colo. 81003. What a said day it was when i heard the news. I’ll always remember days in the ice cream shop getting you your usual ice cream and ice water. You were an ammazing person George. We’ll miss you.
