Gail Elizabeth (Nugent) Hast, 86, formerly of Westcliffe, Colo., passed away January 8, 2026, in Centennial, Colo. Widow of Herbert Hast Jr, originally from Commerce City, Colo., retired to Westcliffe, Colo. in 1998. Gail is survived by their 2 daughters, Stephanie (Bruce) Clow and their daughters, Katherine and Megan, all of Denver, Colo. and Reneé (Sal) Stabila of Westcliffe, Colo. and their blended family including, James (Emily) Seelbach of Lorain, Ohio and their 2 children, Alicia Stabila currently serving USAF @Stuttgart Germ and her 2 children, Christopher (Amy) and their 4 children of Pangburn, Ark.
Gail Hast was born in Lebanon, N.H., on May 12, 1939, eldest of 4 daughters, to Freeman Priest Nugent and Georgianna (Woodward) Nugent, graduated from Lebanon High School in 1957. Gail married Herby on May 23 1959, and moved to Colorado.
Gail is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her 3 sisters, Ann, Judy and Linda.
Visitation, 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, at Hope Lutheran Church in Westcliffe. Graveside service, 11 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Cemetery, Westcliffe. Reception to follow in the church’s basement.
