Frank L. Girodo Jr. (“Junie” as he was known by close friends), age 88, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025.
Frank was born on November 11, 1937, in Trinidad, Colorado. He spent his working years first at Safeway and then in the sheet metal trade, helping start and later owning Elmer’s Sheet Metal until his retirement. He took great pride in his work and the relationships he built over the years.
Frank is survived by his sons, Steven (Mary) Girodo and Douglas (Tressa) Girodo; his daughter Susan (Mike) Cozzetta; his brother, Bob of Arizona; and his sister-in-law, Mary Lou Girodo of Parker, Colorado, along with extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dale; his brother, Louis; his wife, Marie; his former wife and mother of his children, Alberta.
Frank enjoyed a life filled with simple pleasures and favorite pastimes. He loved fishing, hunting, golfing, gambling, and watching westerns. He was a devote Denver Bronco fan and had a love for jewelry, especially turquoise; He was very proud of his Thunderbirds, showing them and attending car shows. He especially enjoyed taking cruises and traveling to Las Vegas.
Frank was a member of the Sheet Metal Union and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He will be missed dearly.

  5. Oh Sue, I was so sorry to see this notification of your Dad’s passing! I haven’t seen him in a very long time but my memories of growing up with him in Trinidad are so special! All of us cousins back then were very close and spent time together. Please give your family my condolences. I will be praying for all of you as you go through this difficult time. Our memories will always keep them close to our hearts.
