Obituary Dorothy Bjork –

August 22, 2022, Dorothy LaRue Bjork passed peacefully and joyfully into the arms of her Heavenly Father. It is absolutely certain that the Lord looked upon her face and greeted her with arms wide open as he proclaimed “Well done, daughter you are a good and faithful servant. “
Born to Earl and Lenora (Bobby) Cude on February 13, 1937 in Brady, Texas. She attended local schools until her marriage to Ronald Wilson Bjork on February 17, 1955 in Comfort, Texas. Her marriage to Ron lead her away from the beloved ranch and provided her the opportunity to become a wonderful wife, devoted mother and amazing grandmother. She continued to raise her children while obtaining her degree from the University of Southern Colorado and a Master’s Degree from the Monmoth College of Education in Oregon. She loved being in the classroom with fourth grade children, however, she soon grew to become a highly respected and valued principal at Sommerlid, Beulah Heights, and Haaf Elementary.
Dorothy loved her faith, her family and her home abundantly. Dorothy loved being in the mountains with her family and traveling to the hill country of Texas to visit the Blue Bonnets. She loved her husband, children, and grandchildren more than herself and was always quick to demonstrate it through her words and actions. She attended Majestic Baptist in Pueblo West and never tired of the fellowship and serving Christ and others. Dorothy was truly the embodiment of Proverbs 31. She was a woman of virtue and noble character and worth more than rubies. She was clothed in strengthen and dignity. Her children called her blessed and she was never ever idle. She was a woman who honored and revered the name of the Lord.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Bobby Cude, her son Mark Douglas and her granddaughter Emily Amanda Comer. She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Bjork and her children Karen Comer (Mark) and Bruce Bjork along with her grandchildren Matthew Bjork, Holly Comer, Katy Miller (Robert), and Abby Taylor (John) along with great grandchildren Michael Taylor, Emily Taylor, and Lance Miller.

  1. What a beautiful testimony… indeed, we shall see Dorothy in Paradise!

Thank you, Brother Ron (and proximally, your beloved Bride Dorothy!) for ALL that you have both shared with us, throughout the–literal!–decades within which we have experienced!

SO looking forward to meeting you and sharing with you both, once we are respectively in Paradise!

  2. Ron – It seems like we knew you and Dorothy forever. So thankful for your friendship through so many years. I was privileged to teach Sunday School with Dorothy and always enjoyed our time with you both. Love to you and your family as you cherish so many memories. Kay Bennett

  3. We were so sorry to hear for Dorothy’s passing. Praying for you, Ron, and your family during this time.
    Steve and Teri Borgstedt

  4. One of my favorite memories of DOROTHY IS HER CALL WHEN WE HAD SEASON TICKETS TO ROCKIES GAMES! Were ours available on opening day? She & Ron would take grandchildren to that game!! SO GLAD THAT I COULD HELP OUT!
Just lost touch over the years, so sending love & prayers to ALL OF HER FAMILY! Sincerely, LEAH & GORDON SAMUELSON

  5. I remember Mrs. Bjork. She was our student teacher when I was a 4th grade student at Ben Franklin. She is the only student teacher that I remember. I was sad when she left our school, so many years ago. Rest in peace, Mrs. Bjork, you made an impression on me.

  7. Dear Ron and family,

You may not remember us but we knew you and Dorothy in Pueblo when we were attending Fellowship of the Rockies. Our mutual friend Steve Eckert let us know if Dorothy’s death and we just wanted to tell you how sorry we were to receive the news. We have fond memories of you both. May God’s comfort and peace be with you all.

  8. Ron….our love and condolences to you and your family in your loss. Dorothy was a special lady and her legacy will live on. Love and prayers, Nancy Leach
