It is with profound sorrow that our family announces the passing of David Lance Wade on April 21, 2024. Dave was a remarkable man whose life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and unwavering love. Dave was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and cherished friend.
Dave’s journey began in Pueblo, Colorado. He was born on September 5, 1944, to parents David Stewart and Helen Louise Wade. His adventurous spirit and engaging personality brought people together and forged bonds that would last a lifetime.
Dave displayed a remarkable knack for craftsmanship and a passion for the outdoors and Western lifestyle that would shape his life’s path. Dave was a horse trainer, rancher, welder, mechanic, and talented saddle maker. Beyond his skill in the workshop, Dave mastered the art of chuckwagon cooking. Whether crafting hearty meals over an open flame or brewing coffee under the morning sun, Dave loved to share his passion with others. He was a dedicated advocate and board member of the American Chuck Wagon Association for many years.
Yet amidst his many passions, Dave’s greatest love was reserved for his treasured wife, Helen. They met at a dance in Beulah, Colorado and were married on July 2, 1965. Together, they embarked on an amazing journey of love and companionship that spanned nearly six decades. Dave lived his life to the fullest, with no regrets, cherishing every moment with Helen.
As a father, Dave was a pillar of strength and an unwavering example of the value of hard work and perseverance for his three daughters, Tracey, Missy, and Summer, and their families. He took immense pride in their accomplishments and cherished every moment spent with them. He also was an example to his family through his faith in Christ, modeled a life of daily prayer and thankfulness, and always cherished his life’s blessings. As a grandfather, Dave found joy in the laughter and adventures of his grandchildren. He took great pride in their accomplishments and took advantage of every moment spent with them as he passed down his wisdom to future generations.
David was preceded in death by his parents, David S. Wade and Helen L. Wade.
