Darrel Dix went to be with the Lord on May 7, 2022, and reunited with his wife, Wanda, of 65 years. He is survived by his 4 children, Ron Dix (Laura), Diana Warrington (Brad), Sharla Dix, and Leah Burdick (Dan); brother, Gary Dix (Judy); and sister, Judy Barttlebort ( Ron). He has 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 11 nieces, and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Dix; parents, Gary and Marjorie Dix; sister, Jane Dix; and grandchildren, Kyle Dix and Christopher Baker. He was born in Fort Morgan, Colorado in 1934, when his parents moved to the San Luis Valley to farm. He met his wife (Wanda) in high school and they were married in 1953. They moved to Pueblo and he started D and L trucking. He worked for Stanley Structures and retired with Rocky Mountain Prestress in Denver, CO. He loved to fly and received his pilots license. He mostly enjoyed camping and fishing with his family. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on June 17, 2022, at Alamosa Cemetery.
