Darcy Dudley, 96, passed away December 14, 2017, at her home in Pueblo, surrounded by family. Born in Sewickley, Pa., to Arthur and Etha (Correll) McAllister. She had an older brother and was the middle of three sisters. The family moved often due to her father's job of opening oil refineries around the country, even living for a time on the island of Aruba. Darcy attended the Traphagen School of Fashion in New York City, and was proud of the award she won for one of her designs. While in New York she met and married Lynn Charles Dudley on April 3, 1947. They moved to Colorado from New York in 1956. During their time in Denver, Darcy worked at Lowry AFB. In 1991, Darcy moved to Pueblo and was involved in Pueblo's New-Comers group, the Pueblo Chapter of the Federation of the Blind and loved to play bridge, but her greatest joy came from playing golf. Darcy is survived by her children, Nancy (Bill) Davis, Peter (Kathleen) Dudley, Richard (Theresa) Dudley; grandchildren, Ryan (Carmen) Davis, Matthew Davis, Raina Becker, Rachael (David Calderon) Dudley, and Danielle Dudley; and great-grandchildren, Beckham and Zoe Davis, and Dominic Becker. Special thanks to Diane Gamez, her caregiver, as well as Sangre De Cristo Hospice, especially Vince Perez, RN, and Pastor Shane. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sangre de Cristo Hospice, 1207 S. Hello,
Sorry to hear of Darcy’s passing. I worked with your Mom at Lowry AFB in the early 1970’s and happened to be researching former co-workers today. I was a YOUNG active duty military Airman.
Your Mom was a sweet, gracious, fun woman to be with.
It is a small world, my brother-in-law is from Pueblo, Colorado and taught/retired from teaching, resides in Pueblo.
It was a privilege to know and be friends with Darcy.
Sincerely,
Rhonda (Padley) Smith
