Danny Ray Bryant—there isn’t much that needs to be said, because if you were blessed enough to know him, you already know he was Goodness, he was Joy, and he was Love. He shared this with every person with whom he came in contact.
Danny went peacefully to be with His Lord on May 22, 2024, in Pueblo, CO, with his family at his side.
Danny is the son of Dexter and Rosetta (Downs) Bryant, and older brother to his beloved sister, Robbin (Thomas) Langley. He was born on February 26, 1953, in South Charleston, WVA. God found him at the age of 15 and from that day on, Danny served Him faithfully and made it his life work (and hobby) to share His message. He met his wife of 47 years, Naomi (Willowby) in Anderson, IN, where they were students at Anderson College. He began seminary in Anderson and completed his master’s in the Chicago area, while serving as youth pastor at the First Church of God in Oak Lawn, IL. His youth became and remain family, and he was proud of them. In 1981, he accepted the call to pastor the First Church of God in Pueblo, CO, where he lovingly and willingly served the church and the community for 41 years. Danny and Naomi were blessed with three beautiful and beloved children, Elizabeth (Aaron) Del Priore, Rachel (Wes) Foster, and Jonathan. Two PERFECT grandsons, Gavin and Owen Del Priore, were his pride and joy. There was room in Danny’s heart for “beautiful Japanese daughter” Chie (Hiro) Noda and grandchildren Nihoka and Tanaho. He and Naomi have also claimed many other children and grandchildren as their own over the years. There was never a doubt that Danny loved his sweet nieces and nephews and their families as his children—Nathan, Laura, Daniel, Zachary. He had numerous friends, family, and a wonderful neighborhood who were so loved and so special. You all know who you are! Thank you! Talking about his hobbies, which were numerous, his generosity, accomplishments, and contributions to the world would take too long, as they are endless and can be compiled into one sentence. He loved God, he loved his family, and he truly loved each and every person with whom he came in contact. He simply made the world a better place. His Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at 219 No. Yucca St, Pueblo, CO, with Dr. Nathan Willowby (nephew), Rev. Dr. Arnetta McNeese Bailey, and Rev. Gary Glatthar officiating.
Casual dress, please, as this will be outside. Parking instructions will be given when you arrive at 219 No. Yucca.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to: Christian Women Connection, Congo Sewing Project. This worthy project is building centers for women in Congo and Uganda to learn a trade, earn a wage, and achieve a means to live. Gifts can be made using the link https://christianwomenconnection.org/90th-anniversary/ or by sending your check to Christian Women Connection, P.O. Box 2328, Anderson, IN 46018 or through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors.

“What would Danny do!?” 😊
I met Danny at Spring Hill Jr High in 1965. He was “the Big Guy”, the football player that was a “gentle giant”. We always had the common bond of Jesus. Danny and Mike Mallory were my best guy friends through High School. We went separate ways but he did come to my wedding to Steve in 1974. All of the good things said about Danny are true, so kind, caring and loved Jesus. So blessed to have known him as such a friend. Would that we all could have such epitaphs as his- ‘ALL GLORY TO GOD’.
Danny was an amazing guy. From his days as just about the friendliest guy at Anderson College to his long, strong ministry in Pueblo. I never got to spend enough time with him. I expect that is one of the wonderful things I will get to do in heaven. Blessings to Naomi and the rest of the family.
When I first met Danny I was a young pastor in Colorado, but he always made you feel like a seasoned veteran and special family. He had the biggest smile and was genuinely interested in how you and the ministry was going. I love that Danny could have gone to larger congregations but faithfully served in Pueblo for so many years. He is home but he will be missed.
So thankful you are now with your Savior, no more earthly pain! I will cherish my fond memories of you (& Naomi)!!
