Cynthia Pospahala, 70, of Pueblo, Colo., went to be with Jesus on Dec. 2, 2023. Cynthia was born in Denver, Colo., on June 24, 1953, to Kenneth and Neva Cox. She grew up in Canon City, Colo., and helped her family run the Thunderbird Café and Campground by the Royal Gorge. She graduated from Canon City High School in 1971, and attended the University of Southern Colorado for four years. She married Mike Pospahala on Aug. 24, 1974. She worked at Sacred Heart Home as a child placement specialist until she became a mother. Being a wife and mother was her greatest joy. She was actively involved in her church and supported all of her children’s education and activities. Later in life, she was an assistant gardener at Mineral Palace Park and enjoyed planting all the beautiful flowers. She spent much of her time doting on all her grandchildren as she was greatly involved in each of their lives. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Neva Cox. She is survived by her husband, Mike Pospahala; children, Melissa (Lance) Smit, Jessica (Chad) Ones, Stephen Pospahala and Christopher (Megan) Pospahala; grandchildren, Benjamin Cohn, Kaiden and Kylie Smit, Paxton and Everett Ones, and Kendehl and Oliver Pospahala; siblings, John (Shar) Cox, Karen Packard and Connie Kohl; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, at Family Worship Center located at 3800 Parker Blvd Pueblo, CO. Online condolences at www. MontgomerySteward.com.

    I worked with Cindy at the Parks dept for several years. Cindy was a wonderful, hard working individual, she and Eileen had one of the most taxing jobs with gardening throughout the city of Pueblo. She will definitely be missed. Rest in heaven Cindy!
