Resided in: Pueblo, Colorado

Talk about a life well-lived!  Betty Farmer passed away at age 92 on June 23, 2023.  She was born on February 17, 1931, in Weatherford, TX to the late Arthur and Sophie Kuchenbacker.  She was preceded in death by Arthur (Junie) her older and fun-loving brother, and her husband and soulmate, Gene. They shared numerous passions throughout their life—early morning coffee, dogs and their puppies, a belief in working hard, classical music, antiques, going to garage sales, taking drives to the country in their Ford Mustang, camping in Colorado, Canton First Monday Trade Days, flowers, gardening, attending musicals and performances, and of course, family time.

These passions trickled over and were shared by their daughter, Debby King, who was #1 in their lives…that is until their two precious granddaughters, Carmen Juckett and Courtney Nixdorf came along.  ‘Momo’ loved being a part of their lives and watching those same granddaughters get married and add Grand Sons-in-Law, Clay Juckett, and Eric Nixdorf. What tripled Betty’s joy was having GREAT-Grandchildren, Jacob and Jessica Juckett and new Grandbaby twins, Everett and Natalie Nixdorf.

Betty grew up and loved living in Oak Cliff, a great community on the south side of Dallas.  After graduating from Sunset HS, she attended North Texas State University receiving a Bachelor of Music Education, with an emphasis on Piano Performance.  She later received her Master’s of Education from Texas Women’s University.

Betty taught music for 29 years in Dallas ISD, the last ten years teaching Group Piano at the Arts Magnet HS.  She was honored many times, gave workshops throughout the state, and in the 70s, was the District Teacher of the Year.  She also spent many years directing her church choirs.  Before retiring from DISD, Betty became a Mary Kay Consultant.  After a few years of dedicated efforts, she became a Senior Director with wonderful recruits, many of who became Star Consultants and Directors (as well as life-long friends!) Yes, she earned seven cars!

Throughout her lifetime, Betty inspired thousands of children and adults with her energy, love, positivity, and musical talent.  She continued her passion for teaching as she encouraged and helped to make women of all ages financially independent through her work with Mary Kay.

The last seven years of her life were spent in Pueblo, Colorado, living close to her daughter Debby and son-in-law Mikey, enjoying cool summers and the beautiful mountains of Colorado.

She is survived by numerous sweet nieces, fun nephews, forever friends, and loving family.

Betty requested a ‘Celebration of Life’ and that the time be filled with joy and not despair.  We are honoring her request.  Friends and family are welcome to join in sharing her inspiring life on Friday, August 4, from 9:00-11:00 am, with a Light Brunch at Embassy Suites by Love Field, 3880 W. Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX  75220.  Brunch with friends and family was always her favorite way to catch up and start the day!

There will be a private Family Chapel Service the following afternoon at Crawford and Crim Funeral Home in Henderson, TX.

In lieu of flowers, please consider giving to the charity of your choice.

From all of our family, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for loving Betty–our Mama, Momo, Aunt, and Friend
