Berta L. Edmonds

Berta L. Edmonds, 91, passed away January 28, 2004. Preceded in death by her husband, York Edmonds. Survived by her brother-in-law, Rufus Edmonds; children, Eleanor (Ray) Koester of Pueblo, Donald (Yvonne) Edmonds of Pueblo West, JoAnn (Mark) White of Pueblo and John (Carol) Edmonds of Downey, Calif.; grandchildren, Mark Koester, Beverly Morris, Brad Lee Edmonds, Karen Bruce, Stephanie and Michael Edmonds, and Amanda, James and Jillian White; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Berta was born Dec. 30, 1912, in Bloomfield, Missouri to Ersula and John Woods and married York in 1929. Berta owned and operated a store in Devine, Colo. and later worked at White & Davis in Pueblo. Member of First United Methodist Church. She will lie in state from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2004, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel with the Rev. John Edmonds officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Special thanks from the family to Dr. Marlow Sloan and Sangre de Cristo Hospice for the care they gave Berta. Those who desire may make memorials to Sangre de Cristo Hospice through the funeral home.
