William L. 'Bill' Zupancic passed away Aug. 21, 2008. Bill was born Sept. 1, 1944, in Pueblo, Colo., to Rudolph and Velda Zupancic. Bill attended Centennial High School then enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He served on the USS Ticonderoga earning a commendation for exceptionally meritorious service in support of operations in the Gulf of Tonkin. Bill is survived by two children, Troy and Melody; five grandchildren, T.J., Ty, Trey, Tess and Evan. He is also survived by his mother, Velda Zupancic; brothers, John (Beverly) Zupancic and Ray Zupancic; and sisters, Marilyn (Roxy) Hannafious and Kathy (John Browning) Zupancic. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Rudolph J. Zupancic on July 30, 2003. Bill resided at the Cripple Creek Wellness Center for the past eight months and the family thanks the staff for their kindness and care during that time. There will be no viewing or service.
