William “Bill” Frank Kuharic, 87, passed away Sept. 3, 2021. Bill was born at 1209 Corby Street in South Bend, Indiana, to Joseph Louis Kuharic of Yugoslavia and Gertrude Kuzmits of Austria.  Bill enjoyed spending time at the South Bend Farmers Market and on the campus of the University of Notre Dame.  He graduated South Bend Central High School in 1952, served as clerk in the United States Army, and worked at Gates Chevrolet as a mechanic where he met switchboard operator Marcia Jane Hegedus, whom he married in 1960.

His volunteer time and talents were shared with St. Joseph County 4-H (instruction), Elkhart Municipal Airport (experimental plane construction), and Studebaker National Museum (vehicle reconstruction).

Bill is survived by his wife, Marcia Kuharic (Pueblo West, CO); daughter, Kimberly Kuharic (Snellville, GA); and son and son-in-law,  Kevin Kuharic and Paul Boat (Georgetown, CO).

No funeral or memorial service will be held; in lieu of flowers, please consider a tribute gift to Sangre de Cristo Community Care, 1920 Valley Dr., Pueblo, CO 81008 in memory of William Frank Kuharic.

    I am so very sorry for your loss of your husband and dad . He had a bright sense of humor, and true charm . I always enjoyed his teasing and indulgent sense of play when we got together. I know that he suffered so much in the last year and have some sense of the tremendous care you took of him .
