William F. Gassino, 92, passed away April 11, 2021. Preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, who passed away in 2005, Ines (née Pasquin) Gassino; sister, LaVerne (Duaine) Smith; sister-in-law, Julia (Mike) Scarafiotti; brothers-in-law, Ezio Pasquin, Johnny Pasquin and Mike DeBono. Survived by his children, Gary Gassino, Mark (Peggy Montoya) Gassino and Dian (Gerry) Montgomery; granddaughter, Laura (Aaron) Sherman; step-grandchildren, Joe Montoya (Jenna) and Desirae Montoya; great-grandson, Sean Rue; step great-grandchildren, Julia, Joslyn, Lucy and Brayden; brother-in-law, Carl (Grace) Pasquin; sister-in-law, Catherine DeBono; numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by his guardian angel, Joyce Wade.
Bill was born to Frank and Teresa Gassino on Oct. 27, 1928, in Trinidad, Colo. He served his country proudly at the conclusion of WWII in the US Army where he was stationed in Germany. He served in the infantry and later as an MP. (Military Police) In 1984, Bill retired from the Pueblo Police Department after 30 years of service.
Bill’s faith and family were very important to him. Funeral service, 11 a.m. Friday, April 16, at Family Worship Center, 3800 Parker Blvd. Entombment, Mountain View Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum.

  1. Our condolences to all the family. We knew Bill at church and he was in my Bible study several years. He always said he was studying for his final exam. We had great respect for him and are sure he passed that final exam with flying colors.

  10. Bud Rivas ATLAS FIRMS formerly RSL Accounting. I would meet Bill and Joyce once a year to do their taxes. Bill would always be a gentleman even when I knew he was hurting. I missed working with him this year but I know he is at peace now. God Bless his family.

I remember him reading scripture in the locker room at the PPD before he would begin his shift. He was always cheerful and kind, and he treated everyone with the utmost respect. He was truly a good man! May your faith in God and your precious memories bring you comfort.

  17. So sorry for the passing of your Dad. He was a very nice man. I remember when your mom and dad, joined the Pueblo Police Explorer Post #157, up at San Isabel we took a weekend of fun. We had so much fun with them and Jerry Salazar. Great memories with your dad at the Police Department. Truly a special person in my life, and I will always remember him.
