William Daniel "Phil" Phillips

William Daniel “Phil” Phillips, 88, passed away of natural causes while using his beloved hot tub. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Christa; children, Connie (Henry) and Michael (Tori); grandchildren, Christopher, Trevor, Victoria, Liz, Lance and Eve; daughter-in-law, Gypsy; sister, Nancy; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Phil joins his son Ed, who preceded him in death.

He will be remembered for a legacy of service that touched so many lives. Phil joined the U. S. Air Force at the age 18 and retired after 26 years of service. He became a mail carrier in Pueblo and retired after 15 years.

Phil always advocated education and free speech. He had limited college education, but all of his children and grandchildren have attended college. He was always open to discussion and debate. This trait carried into his family with independent thinking and beliefs. Phil was a devoted family man and always engaged with all levels of his immediate and extended families. As a senior leader of his squadron, he always extended invited to his house to members that did not have family to engage with at holidays.

He was involved in his children’s and grandchildren’s sports and school events. Phil was very proud of all their achievements. He was always serving as a coach, mentor, mechanic, educator, and generally a great friend to all that knew him. Everyone knew that they could rely on Phil for anything. Mr. P spent the last years of his life with his beloved wife Christa and local families in Pueblo and Monument. He was the best chauffeur and always enjoyed a good burger.
