Walter Scott Combs, Sr. passed away on July 25, 2004, in Pueblo, Colo. He was born on April 21, 1921, in Valencia, Kansas, to the union of Scott and Martha (Crocker) Combs. He was a loving family man. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Belle (Meadows); children, Walter Scott Jr. (Kay), Cumberland, Rhode Island, David Joseph (Doris), Lakewood, Julie Anne Yee (Norman), Plano, Texas, Steven Lee (Judi) Westminster and Diana Sue, Glendale, California; sister, Dayle Hutton, Lakewood; brother, Wayne Combs, Berryton, Kansas; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Scott and Martha Combs; brothers, Vern and Robert Combs; in-laws, Joseph and Emma Meadows; and loving Aunt Mary Belle Meadows. He served during World War II in the US Army Air Corps with duties including radioman on B-24s. He and Mary Belle were married in Denver on November 2, 1944, and moved to Pueblo in 1947 where they resided since. Walter was a carpenter by trade and built the family home. He was active in Boy Scouts and was a troop leader. He and his wife delivered Meals on Wheels when able. After retirement in 1983 he enjoyed traveling, taking many long trips with his family. Cremation at his request. The family will hold a private celebration of his life at a later date. The family respectfully requests the omission of food and flowers.
