Celebration of Life:

Violet M. Dasenzo, 92, passed away peacefully at home and was placed in our Heavenly Father’s arms on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, with her loving family surrounding her. Vi was born in Fairfield, Iowa on July 1, 1930, to Roy and Marie Wright.

She is preceded by her husband, Charles Dasenzo; two sisters, Frances (Raymond) Puffinbarger, and Louise Wheeler; one brother, Rex Wright; her favorite niece, Shirley (Dillon) Benge; and her precious grandson, Nicholas Marcon.
Left to cherish her memory are the loves of her life, daughters, Susie Sutphen of Pueblo and Diana (Mario) Marcon of Brentwood, Calif.; granddaughters, Ann Marie Pershin, of Pueblo and Gina Hermann and Erica Marcon of California; great-grandchildren, Gianna and Joseph Prather, Angelina, Nicholas, and Isabella Herman; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; plus her ex-husband, Earl Sutphen.

Mom loved going to Las Vegas, going on cruises, and traveling the world. She was such a beautiful woman with her hair, nails, and clothes just right. She had such a loving heart and would do anything for her family and friends. Vi began her working career at the Rock Island Arsenal, located in Davenport, Iowa in 1952. Then Earl and Vi moved to Pueblo where she worked at the Pueblo Army Depot from 1957 thru 1976. In 1976 she worked at Minnequa Bank until she went into the travel business. She worked at Cappy’s travel for 5 years. In 1985, Charles and Mom opened Regency Travel where they worked until their retirement in 2002. She loved her clients who became friends throughout the years. In Mom’s retirement years, she and Charlie traveled a lot, especially to California to see her family there. She was such a kind and loving person and everyone she knew loved her dearly.

Special thanks to Pat Gash, Cathy and Dave Dehn, and Earl Sutphen for their loving support. A special thank you to Suzette and Bernadette for their loving care and to Dr. George Birks and Jessie for their special care. They are all angels.

  1. My precious mother. 💖 You were my rock.I will miss talking with you everyday. I will remember you always told me you have to be a tough old lady.

  2. My condolences to Susie and family. Vi was such a beautiful elegant lady. When she lived down the street from me I enjoyed our visits and conversations. Blessings to all!

  3. My dear friend Vi….Gone to heaven too soon, but will walk with Charlie on the streets of gold.. I knew her thru Regency Travel. My husband and I didn’t know Vi real well then, but we wanted to see Johnny Mathis in Las Vegas. Tickets required a credit card to be presented at the box office to pick them up. I looked at Vi and said well we won’t be able to go because we don’t have a credit card. She said don’t worry you can take and use mine. This was the big time love and caring Vi had every day of her life. When I had cancer she dropped everything for 10 years to get me to Phoenix. She had a wonderful sense of humor.. on her wall at Regency she had a sign..be careful of the. Toes you step on today lest they be attached to the rear end that you may have to kiss tomorrow! I will miss those days where we worked on flowers for her home, but even more than that I will miss the many days and afternoons that we sat and talked about family, friends, life and of course Rod Stewart! I look forward to seeing you and Charlie at our saviours feet in heaven. Save Bud and I a spot, I can hardly wait to see you! Love you my dear friend!,,,,
