Verlin 'Bubby' Messenger, 80, went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2018. He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 55 years, Frances; two sons, Andrew and Gerald; and parents, Paul and Lola. Survived and missed by sons, John and Carl (Lorina) Messenger; ten grandchildren, Amanda (Josh) McClure, Jennifer Huskin, Jackie Sgambati, Adam (Brittany) Messenger, Jonnie Messenger, Nathan (Megan) Messenger, Carl (Samantha) Messenger, Sierra, Andrew and Dakota Messenger; and 17 great-grandchildren. He spent his life in the service of others thus in the service of the Lord. He served his country faithfully during the Korean War and was a mechanic and worked for Rainbo Bakery for over 20 years. He built and ran Plainview trailer court for many years, helping many families in the process. He retired from the Boone Fire Department after serving 21 years. Bubby was loved by all that knew him and will be missed by all. Funeral service, 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at Faith Baptist Church, 169 S. 30 ½ Lane, Pueblo.
