Vera (Yoxtheimer) Dean, 90, passed away on July 4, 2017. Vera lived most of her life in Pueblo, Colo. She married John Yoxtheimer in 1951, and they spent their honeymoon driving to Pueblo from back east. While still single, Vera worked as a typesetter and proof reader for a newspaper in Grand Rapids, Mich. Born near Warren, Ohio, Vera grew up with seven brothers and sisters in her mother and father's house during the depression. Vera was very artistic and restored antique furniture, created artwork and was an avid doll collector. In 1973, Vera and John became Realtors. She worked extraordinarily hard at the real estate business until 1986. In 1986, widowed, Vera married Russell Dean. Widowed again in 2006, Vera continued to take wonderful care of her house and had to be talked out of going up on her roof to clean the gutters at the age of 80. Vera was ahead of her time in so many ways. She studied and researched health through natural methods. Survived by her daughters, Linda Granger and Janice Yoxtheimer; and granddaughter, Amanda Glomboski. Vera will go on living in our hearts and our memories. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 10 a.m. Monday, July 10, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Online condolences, www.montgomerysteward.com

  1. Vera was a very kind woman, and friend. I have missed seeing her working in her yard and visiting with her as she would always walk across the street to talk. She was a remarkable woman, and a very good neighbor. We will miss you, but know you are in a much better place. Prayers are with your daughters and granddaughter.
