Veneta Joyce Silva, 78, went to be with her deceased family and the Lord on July 15, 2011. Veneta died in her home in Pueblo, Colorado. She was born on January 2, 1933, in Montezuma, Kansas to her parents, Bernard and Josephine Koehn. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Bernard Koehn, Myron Koehn, Wilton Koehn, Clayton Koehn; and sister, Alfreda Koehn. She is survived by her loving husband, Roger Silva of Pueblo; son, Mark (Sheryl) Silva of Guymon, Oklahoma and grandchildren, Andrew, Elliot, Amanda, and Nickolas Silva; daughter, Michelle (Steven) Meier and grandchildren, Jacob and Ellis Meier of Pueblo; brothers, Gilbert Koehn, Milton Koehn, Leonard Koehn; sister, Maxine Grenard; three loving sisters-in-law, Della Quintana, Joan Martinez, Susan Martin; many nieces and nephews. Veneta received her Registered Nursing Degree from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Wichita, Kansas. She had a long nursing career with St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, The Wichita Clinic and ended her career as an RN for a private physician. Veneta spent most of her married life in Wichita, Kansas until retiring in Pueblo, Colorado in 1997. Veneta enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling with them. Veneta was very devout in her religious and prayer life and was a faithful member of Christ the King Church. The most important aspect of Veneta's life was her loving care and interest in her family and especially caring for her grandchildren. 'I am always with you; you hold me by my hand. You guide me with your counsel and then afterward, you will take me into glory.' Psalm 73.23 Viewing from 6 to 7 p.m. followed by the Rosary at 7 p.m. Monday and funeral Mass, 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011, with Msgr. Tom Adrians as celebrant. Services will be held at Christ the King Church, 1708 Horseshoe Dr. A gathering of friends and family will be held following the Mass in the parish hall. Memorials may be made to Christ The King Church, 1708 Horseshoe Dr., Pueblo, CO 81001. Interment, 11 a.m. Wednesday at Del Norte Cemetery, Del Norte, Colorado.   6. So to sorry to hear of Aunt Venetas passing. I have a lot of memories of her and coming to your house when you lived in Goddard. I wish I could son be there in person on tues. but will be with you in spirit non the less. Uncle Roger, Mark and Michelle my thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time.
