Tony Calvano, 84, passed away in Pueblo, Colo., on Feb. 20, 2005. Tony was born in Salida, Colo. on Dec. 4, 1920, and a lifelong resident of Salida until he moved to Pueblo 8 months ago residing at Legacy Commons Assisted Living Center. Tony was a WWII veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1942 thru 1945. Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Ruby. Survived by his children, Don (Irene) Calvano of Denver, Donna (Tom) Musgrove of Pueblo, Beverly Mackinnon, Sherry (Francis) Dere of Salida and Louis Calvano of Las Vegas; sisters, Pauline (Henry) Fear and Rosie Fear of Salida; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Tony's hobbies were music, playing accordion and visits to Cripple Creek. Services will be held 12 noon Friday, Feb. 25, at St. Joseph Parish in Salida. In lieu of food or flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made in memory of Tony Calvano to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 320 E. 5th St., Salida, Colo. 81201.
