Celebration of Life:

Thomas W. Tucker, 77, passed away Jan. 31, 2023, after a long battle with cancer and muscular
dystrophy.
Tom worked for 30 years for the Colorado Division of Labor and Employment as an appeals referee.
A beloved husband, father and friend, Tom led a life dedicated to the service of others.
He put Christ at his life’s center and, prior to his illness, had been active in many churches; including
Wesley United Methodist, Calvary Baptist, Westminster Presbyterian and First Baptist.
Tom was a longstanding and respected leader in the Pueblo Charter Lions Club. He served numerous
terms as the club’s president as well as a term as the District Governor of District 6 SE clubs in Southeastern
Colorado.
For his service to the Lions Club, Tom was awarded the Colorado Lions Foundation Humanitarian Award
and the Melvin B. Jones award from Lions Clubs International for dedicated humanitarian services.
However, his richest rewards came from his work with friends and family. He served as a mentor to
many in the Lions Club and the churches he attended.
He is remembered with fondness by many for his sense of humor, and the grace and love he showed
everyone, from friends of his children to strangers in a restaurant.
Above all, he was a dedicated family man, teaching and shaping the lives of his children, stepchildren
and grandchildren.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents Delbert Q. Tucker, Laura E. (Dolph) Tucker, brother Raymond D.
Tucker and wife Carol R. (Cox) Tucker.
He is survived by his wife Shirley (Childress) Tucker, sons Sean (RaeAnna) Tucker and Jeff (Maria) Tucker;

  1. Tom Tucker is one of the most calmest, coolest, compassionate and caring men i have ever had the privilege of knowing. I am proud to call him my Uncle and he will always have a special place in my heart the way he did my entire life especially when i was a kid . The things that stick out in my mind is his Truck datsun i think ? his perfect lawn and just the entire yard front and back always so perfect! BBQs , my Auntie Carols Zucchini rice with cheese or baked Macaroni! and Lemon iced Tea listening to George Straight on the living room stereo the steep stairs to the basement with diamond sparkle in the ceiling. i had a great child hood and My Uncle Tom was definitely one of the reasons why ..

  2. Tom and I were best friends. We rode to school together every day in high school, we played football together, and worked at Safeway together. I am sorry we lost touch as we grew older.

Tom was a good guy. I am sorry for your loss.
