Guestbook

  1. Janis and all Of Tom’s family,
I’m so sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine losing a sibling (husband, father, son….) at such a young age. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve for such a fine man.

  2. To the Carleo Family,

I just learned today of the sad news of Tom’s passing. Tom was one of my best friends in High School. It’s nice to remember all the great times we had. I still laugh with my family when sharing the funny stories of Tom and I hanging out. We enjoyed good times dragging Main St. in Tom’s “Starsky and Hutch” bright green Nova. The last time we spent time together was at our 10 year class reunion with the rest of the gang. Tom will always be in my thoughts. My best wishes to Paula, Nick, Brandon and family.

  3. To the Carleo Family,

Please accept our deepest sympathy. I will always remember Tommy and the Carlo family from our growing up years. You will continue to be in our hearts.

    Neil & Debbie Nelson (Ryan)

  4. Dearest Paula,
Your loss is very heart breaking. We were so touched by you and Tom’s great compassion and vitality as we stayed with you when Father Roger died. You and your family meant so much to Fr. Roger Patrick and we had long heard great stories about “Tommie” and you and the boys before we ever got to meet you. Paula there are no words to comfort you in this huge loss of your best friend and husband. Know we send prayers and love to you and the boys as you grieve Tom’s death. Our Jennie and Alex always say that he was so inspiring at a very hard time in our life: he let Jennie sit his Big Black SUV and get a picture taken and he took Alex out in the Corvette. We hold such warm memories of you and your whole family. Bless you in this time of grief and loss. Love, Kathleen, Michael, Alex and Jennie Dorcy, Fr. Roger’s family in Seattle

  5. Dear Tom,
As a high school classmate I always remember your warm attitude and friendly nature. I am very sorry you have gone and even though we haven’t seen each other in probably 10 years, I am going to miss you.

  6. To the Carleo family: We first met Tom when he worked at Zales. We stayed in touch through our friendship over many years. We finally got a corvette about the time Tom took in other interest, but that didn’t stop Tom from showing he was still interested in what we were doing.Tom was always a listener,a communicator, but most of all a GREAT FRIEND!! He will be greatfully missed.May God bless you in this time of sorrow and may he give you strength to live your life to the fullest, untill we meet Tom again in heaven.Rick and Vicki Carara SAVE THE WAVE

  7. To the Carleo Family,

Paula, you may not remember me, but I spoke with you at Parkview Medical Center. I am a Dietitian and your husband’s medical case reminded me of my brother-in-law’s. I am so sorry for your loss, may God bless you and your family.

  8. SOME ONE HAD PRAYED

The day was long, the burden I had borne,
Seemed heavier than I could longer bear,

And then it lifted – but I did not know –

    Someone had knelt in prayer!

Had taken me to God that very hour,
And asked the easing of the load; and He,
In infinite compassion, had stooped down and taken it from me.

We cannot tell how often as we pray
    For some bewildered one,
    hurt and distressed,

    The answer comes –
    but many times those hearts
    Find sudden peace and rest.

Some one had prayed, and Faith,
    a reaching hand,
Took hold of God, and brought Him down that day!

So many, many hearts have need of prayer –
    OH, LET US PRAY!

    Dear Paula and family:
Words cannot express our sorrow in your loss — and ours, too — as Tom was truly a special man. Please know that you are all in our prayers.

  9. Paula, Nick, Brandon Carleo,

    Andy, Mary, Crystal,& Amber Trout

I knew Tom from our high school years and later caught up with him when he emceed my concert performance at Sacred Heart Cathedral three years ago. I have his emcee talents on video if you would like a copy. I know that many people are shocked that he passed so young. This is why we need to live our lives with a giving spirit and nurture our talents like Tom did. I will play a special song for him during my performances this weekend.

God Bless your family and always keep in mind that he is now in a better place and as much as we will miss him he will always be with us all in our hearts

  18. condolences from our family. as much sadness in our heart as astonishment for the unexpected departure. we will always remember his generosity and SIMPATIA.

  19. To Tom’s Family:

My heart and prayers go out to you. So many people will feel the loss of our very special Tom. We became friends as freshmen at Central High and remained so over these years. Whenever I came into the other stores – and eventually Tom’s own – it was as if life had not missed a beat and we caught up on each other’s lives and talked about mutual friends and classmates. Although Tom didn’t attend our class reunions, he was always there in our memories and hearts, as we all would talk about memories of him and how much we wish he was there with us! But never doubt that Tom was PROUD to have gone to Central and graduated with the MIGHTY CLASS OF 1977. He always said to me, “Hey, Lo, if there’s anything I can do, let me know.” I remember how happy he was for me when he saw me after my gastric bypass surgery. He made me feel very special, but, you know, Tom was the special one and through the love he leaves behind in each of you, his family, he will be among us for a very long time. Have faith in the BLESSED HOPE and know that one day you will see him again…and that time will be eternal, forever, nothing separating you ever again! Thank you, Tom, for being such a joy and blessing in the lives of so many, many people, from all walks of life. Be at peace and filled with Heavenly joy! A fellow Wildcat classmate, occasional customer, and always a friend, Lois Conatore

  20. Paula, Nick, Brandon:

What a wonderful person, friend, father and husband. Tom was such an inspiration and had the smile that could immediately light up a room!

Not too often do you go through life and meet a person like Tom who can make you his friend quicker than the handshake is over.

You are in our thoughts and prayers.

    All our love,

Jim, Mary, Brian and Patrick Caniglia

  21. Dear Paula: I don’t know if you remember me, but I worked with Tom during the Zales/Harding Bulloch years.

Tom was one of the most likeable people I have ever known. He always had a smile on his face. It was a pleasure to know and work with him.

He adored you and the boys. He always mentioned you in everyday conversation. He was one “Proud Papa”!

When he opened the store he designed my wedding ring. It is one of a kind and I always get tons of compliments! He was a very talented “goldsmith”. I will think of him everytime I look at my ring.

I am truly sadened by his loss.

You and your sons have my deepest sympathy. He was a wonderful person. I will miss him!

    Sincerely,
    Linda Nauerth

  22. Dearest Paula and Family,

We were so saddened to hear of Tommie’s passing. He was such a good friend to the Dorcy family. He will be sorely missed.

  23. Dear Paula and family,
I can not even begin to express my deepest sympathy.I remember when he first opened up in the Thatcher Bldg, I was probably one of his first customers and yet he continued to put up with me all through the years. Tom was a gracious, caring, fun loving giving man whom I adored dearly, he will be sadly missed.

To live, love and leave a legacy…. he did

  24. To the family of Tom Carleo,
May you all take comfort in knowing that God blessed you all by putting Tom in your lives. I just learned of his passing and was so shocked and saddened. Tom was a great guy; always had a smile on his face and could brighten anyones day with his kindness. The beautiful pieces of jewelry he made for me will be even more special. God must have needed him up in heaven… but hold on to all your wonderful memories… those will always warm your heart… he will always be with you. Each time you look up into the sky and see all those sparkling stars… think of them as diamonds that Tom has scattered all over the heavens to remind all of you of him. My love and prayers are with you all (and Cory & Dena). He will be missed by all of those who knew him.

  25. Dear Tom,
Your spirit and generosity, friendship and caring heart will be fondly remembered by all of us at Pueblo Diversifed Industries. Your gift to Miss America, Heather Whitestone McCallum, given as a token of appreciation when she spoke in Pueblo on behalf of people with disabilities is not forgotten. We know that this was one of many gifts to the community that you freely gave.
Thank you Tom. We will miss you.
The Staff and Consumers at PDI

  30. Dear Paula and Family,
Words cannot express the utter loss experienced with Tom’s passing. Tom was one of the rarest of people: an honest, talented, gifted, giving and open soul. He was a great friend. He did so much for us and the community, yet was always quick to “shrug off” his contribution witha smile. Special people like Tom Carleo only come around on a rare basis and we feel so lucky to have known him. Please accept our deepest and heart-felt sympathy at your loss.

  31. Louis, Dorothy and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I remember when Tom made you the squash blossom neckclase and how pretty it was. He was very good to us whenever we needed help with jewelry. We will keep your family in our hearts and prayers.

    With Sympathy
    Darryl and Patty Dunnington

When we heard of Tom’s passing, we were devasted and heartbroken. The entire Leonard family absolutely loved him and will miss him so much. He was a wonderful man and a very dear friend. Our hearts and prayers go out to you. We all feel so honored to have called him a friend for over 20 years.

  40. I am very sorry for you loss. We missed Tom at our 30th HS Class Reunion and hope Dan relayed my message. Tommy sure got around! Over the years I encounterd him in Anchorage shopping mall, San Diego Airport, and AZ Hwy Rest-Stop.
His partying words always the same: “Pray we don’t need passing grades in Trig to enter heaven!” God Bless You Tom.

  41. Please accept our sincere sympathy on Tom’s death. It was always such a pleasure to see him. We will miss him! To quote the first line of a favorite poem…THE MEMORY OF SOMEONE DEAR IS LIKE A THING OF GOLD, IT NEVER DULLS OR TARNISHES OR GROWS THE LEAST BIT OLD…

  42. Louis, Dorothy, Gerry, Danny and Janis:
Our hearts are grieved by the passing of Tommy. The memories of our playtime as youngsters, Gerry, Danny, Tommy and I (Janis wasn’t allowed because she was a girl…) will continue to live in my life’s pictures as my journey continues. While I am sure it is difficult to read these condolensces through the tears of times like these, rest in the hope of Tommy being in a better place, living free from the pains that plagued him in this life. Also know that God will remember to take each tear you shed and collect them all, so that you can share them with Tommy, when you all meet again. But then, they will be tears of joy for that wonderful reunion day. May God give you comfort that heals like no medicine, and give you hope as we continue our journey….always loving each other as family should.
Love and prayers to you all.

  43. The death of Tommy Carleo has and will touch so many of his friends of our Pueblo community. He was true Pueblo.
    Good-bye, my friend.
Oh, we never know where life will take us
We know it’s just a ride on the wheel.
And we never know when death will shake us
And we wonder how it will feel, so
    Good-bye my friend
I know I’ll never see you again
But the time together through all the years
    Will take away the tears
    It’s ok now.
    Good-bye, my friend
We’ve seen a lot of things that made us crazy
And I guess we held on to you
We could have run away and left, we’ll maybe
But it wasn’t time and all knew, so
    Good-bye my friend
We know we’ll never see you again
But the love you gave us through all the years
    Will take away the tears
    It’s ok now.
    Good-bye, my friend
Life’s so fragile and love’s so pure
We can’t hold on but we try
We watch how quickly it disappears
    And we’ll never know why
    But we’re ok now
    Good-bye our friend
    You can go now
    Good-bye our friend.

Adapted from Karla Bonoff, Good-Bye My Friend.
