Thomas D. 'Tom' Montgomery, Sr., 78, passed away Jan. 1, 2013. Survived by his wife of 59 years, M. Charlene 'Midge' Montgomery; children, Tom (Shelley) Montgomery, Jr. of Greenwood Village, Colo. and Gerry (Dian) Montgomery of Pueblo; grandchildren, Brandon (Brooke) Montgomery of Denver, Ashlee (Dr. Jorge Sallaberry) Montgomery of Reno, Nev.; great-grandchildren, Silas and Gabriel; sister, LaVada Montgomery of California; cousins, Thurmon (Esther) Seright of Colorado Springs and Doyle (Linda) Seright of Moore, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Dean Aggson, to whom he was especially close. Tom was born to William P. and Orveda Montgomery on Nov. 4, 1934, in Brownfield, Texas and was a longtime Pueblo resident. Preceded in death by his sisters, Edith Ehret and LaVerne Green. Member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Tom retired from CF&I. He and Midge owned and operated Villa Pet Shoppe for many years, as well as owning Tom's Upholstery. He raised and showed English Bulldogs for many years. He and 'Slugger' won 'Best in Show' at the Denver Dog Show in 1966 and he was proud that 'Slugger' was named the 4th top English Bulldog in the nation. Viewing from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Service, 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at First Methodist Church, 11th and Court St. Entombment, Mountain View Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum. I miss him sitting across from me at dialysis and I myself was in the hospital when he passed so I didn’t know until I went back to dialysis.   5. My earliest memory of Tom is from the 1960’s, when we worked together in the Blast Furnace Dept. office. I enjoyed working with him, and I remember his good humor and quiet competence at work.
