Simmie 'Sonny' Vaught, 65, passed away March 17, 2012. Survived by his wife, Linda Vaught; sons, Jason and Brady (Courtney) Vaught; sisters, Judy (Ralph) Stefano and Mary Lou (Phillip) Bonata; mother-in-law, Hazel Jaycox; brother-in-law, Mel Carpenter; grandchildren, Raylene, Daemon, Joel, Jordon and Justus Vaught and Amory Spriggs; numerous other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Simmie and Lavena 'Tiny' Vaught; and father-in-law, Harold Carpenter. Simmie was born September 20, 1946, and was a lifetime Pueblo resident. He retired from CF&I as a millwright in the casting foundry. Simmie enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, classic cars, going to church and helping with church activities. Member of Crown of Life Lutheran Church, Outlaws Rod and Custom Car Club and Eagles Aerie # 4471. Special thanks to Dr. Bagale and staff. Viewing from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Service, 10 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Crown of Life Lutheran Church, 145 S. Dear Jason and Linda,
We are deeply sorry for your loss. You are in our hearts and our prayers.
We’re so sorry the pain and heartache that Linda and the boys and all who loved Sonny are going through. I hope you find peace knowing you will see him again, and it will be forever. We will miss him and his laugh. May God comfort you during this time of loss. Just remember, each day that passes, it’s one day closer to being with Sonny again. Take care!

Sonny was a blessing to the Crown of Life family and he will be missed. Praying that God’s grace surrounds you and memories provide comfort during this time.

Linda & Family, it’s hard to put in words the loss of a friend of 60 years. Sonny will truly be missed, especially his contiguous laugh. Death leaves a heartache, no one can heal, and love leaves a memory, no one can steal. Sonny will always live in our hearts.
