Pfalmer; parents, James Bryden and Velma (Smith) and Joe Putaturo; grandparents, William and Grace Smith. She is survived by her children, Ed (Kim) Pfalmer, Janice (Kyle) Clark, Joan (John Mares) Pfalmer, Nancy (Bill) Reorda, Barbara (Brannon) Tolman; grandchildren, Josh (Kali) Clark, Gino (Angela) Begano, Brian (Shelly) Begano, Aimee (Nick) Prigmore, Kaylee Reorda, Paige Reorda, Taylor Tolman; seven great-grandchildren; and very best friend, her dog Bodé. Shirley was born Oct. 8, 1927, in Trinidad, Colo., where she and her husband called home for many years. Shirley was an accomplished singer and pianist early in life as she studied music in Denver. It was during this time that Shirley and Ed exchanged vows and began their journey in life together. She became a wonderful homemaker, loving wife and extra special mother. Shirley enjoyed singing, dancing and socializing with everyone as she seemed never to meet a stranger. She loved trips to Cripple Creek with her beloved husband and daughter, Joanie. Shirley struggled over the past two years trying to deal with the loss of her soul-mate and eventually her broken heart allowed her to reunite with Ed and son, Gerald in eternal life. A special thanks to Visiting Angels Agency, Carrie Rodriguez (caregiver) and Dr. Nancy Moya. The family can rest knowing she and their father are dancing with the angels. There will be no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. 2. My dearest mother, It is so hard to realize you are not there for me to talk to. Something happens in my life and I want to call you and than I realize you are no longer at the other end of a telephone line. I miss you, but I know you are looking down on all your childre and you see each one of us. I hope I will continue to make you proud. We have often talked about the hereafter and I know you’r belief was strong. You, daddy and Jerry are watching over us and I want you to know things will be fine. Just knowing you are watching us lifts my heart. You have spent you’r life raising six children, loving all of us for who we are. My gift was making you laugh, no matter what, we always ended up laughing. I will miss you’r laughter. You are in my dreams. my love forever, Jan

I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. Your mom was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met. She always made me feel so welcome back when we were going to college when I would go home with you. Never forgot how nice she always was to me. You and you family will be in my prayers. Joanna Davis-Mills

  4. Barb Tay and Brannon
What a tough couple of years. You
did an outstanding job caring for
your parents. Not many have such an
honorable daughter to take care of
them. You gave up so much of your own life to take care of them. You
can rest knowing what a wonderful
    daughter you have been.

  5. I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. YOUR IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!!
    MICHELLE, DAVE, ASHLEY & DYLAN

  6. continued from below…You were the world to her. You were the one that helped make your parents live so long. I know sometimes you felt more like a nurse than a daughter, but not to them, you were their world. I know times got so hard and you felt like running away, but you were there through thick and thin. Be proud of everything you did! I hope and pray that my kids will take care of me the way you did your parents. Please hold your head high and be proud, be very proud! I saw you take care of her till the very end! When her feet were so cold…there you were trying to making them warm till the very end. Shirley was like a mom to me and a grandma to my own kids. We will miss her dearly! But I know her broken heart is mended, she is with the love of her life! She will never be forgoten. We will always love and miss her!
We love you all, Brian, Becky, Brandon, Bryanna, and Brittni

  16. I only new this beautiful lady for six of her 83 years and I wish there could have been many more. We met in Cripple Creek one Sunday afternoon and we gravitated towards each other, probably our English roots, anyway our friendship grew from that day.
We didn’t do anything exciting when we were together but we sure did enjoy each others company and laughed a lot.
Now she’s once again with the love of her life, Sonny and I will miss her soooo very much.
We didn’t get to share much time together this past year but we sure burned up the phone lines. October 3rd 2010 was our last time together she was her usual beautiful self and that’s the way I will always remember her.
I love you my friend you will be forever in my heart.
To all the the family, my sincere thank you for sharing your mom with me, my thoughts and prays are with you all.
    Barbara Padilla

    SINCERELY,
