Shirley Ann Tappan Forester beloved daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, departed this life July 16, 2005. Born in Pueblo, February 4, 1928, to George and Ruby Tappan, who preceded her in death as did her brother, Dick Tappan and sisters-in-law, Estyleen and Jeanne. Survived by loving husband, Jack; daughters, Dinah Torrence and Chris (Doug) Wobst; son, Kurt; grandchildren, Patrick, Erin (Robert), Michael, Sally, Will and Caitlin; great-grandchildren, Brennan, Cierra and Cody; and brother-in-law, Maurice Forester. She loved home and family, gardening with the Master Gardeners, cooking, baking, yoga, and spending time at the cabin. She got great pleasure from reading and music and enjoyed a lifelong pursuit of learning and education. She knew how to enjoy life and how to respond to life's challenges with strength and grace. She was a gentle and kind soul and will be sadly missed. Sincere appreciation and thanks to Dr. Thomas Reichert and his staff for their many years of devoted care. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium, has taken place. Memorial service, 2 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2005, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Rick Calhoun officiating. The family respectfully requests the omission of food and flowers. Donations may be made in Shirley's memory to the charity of donor's choice, through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors, 1317 N.   1. Mrs. Forester was so very kind to my family and me after my Mother passed away. All of the Beulah Whitehead family will truly miss seeing her outside working on the side of her house. We will just miss seeing her at all. We spent many years just being good neighbors together. It just wont be the same.
