Born in: Reading, PA
Resided in: Pueblo, CO

Sheryl “Sherri” Olander Bacon, 67, passed away peacefully at home in Pueblo, Colorado from complications related to Parkinson’s disease on June 28th, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her brother Michael Olander.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Bacon; brother, Lawrence Olander; sister, Wendy Olander; daughter, Mara Bacon; and granddaughter, Amethyst Lewis.

She graduated with a teaching degree from Colorado State University. She would have celebrated 40 years of marriage in July.  She was a sweet person with a sweet tooth. She had a penchant for collecting tchotchkes and treasures.  Some of her greatest adventures included teaching inner-city students, assisting those with developmental disabilities to communicate through art, traveling extensively after graduating high school, and ranching alongside her husband. She had a studio bursting with art supplies and was equal parts teacher and student.  In 1986 she was a founding member of the Longmont Firehouse Art Studio.  She was an avid reader with a not-so-bookish personality. She managed to forge friendships wherever she went. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her.

Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. At her request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014 Hagerstown, MD 21741 or https://give.michaeljfox.org/give/421686/#!/donation/checkout
