Sharon Joy Santry

Sharon was a woman of unwavering faith and deep love for her family, which brought her comfort and purpose. Her kindness, compassion, and trust in God’s plan reflected her devotion and inspired those around her.

Sharon met her husband, Dan Santry, in 1958 during a snowball fight outside of her dorm. They married on August 6, 1961. Over 57 years, they shared many adventures, from attending football games to taking students on tours of Washington, D.C., and enjoying family cruises. They exemplified what it means to be true partners.

Sharon is survived by her children, Michele (David) Edwards, Kevin (Cheryl) Santry, and Dana (Kyle) Horne; grandchildren, Vanessa Santry, Taylor (Sophia) Santry, Rebecca Edwards, Tyler (Micaela Diaz) Santry, and Casey Horne; and great-grandchildren, Hollyn Santry and Luca Santry.

Sharon had a strong faith and cherished every moment with her family, wholeheartedly supporting her grandchildren at their sporting events—basketball, baseball, and soccer—and cheering them on at their band performances or art shows. Her love for music, especially oldies, country, and musicals, reflected her warm spirit. Her legacy of kindness and dedication continues to inspire those who knew her to live with love and purpose.

Sharon devoted more than 20 years to elementary education in Pueblo District 60, where she inspired many students with her kindness and patience. Her active participation in the Assistance League of Pueblo and Operation School Bell highlighted her dedication to uplifting others and creating a lasting legacy.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2026 in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel, 1317 N Main Street, Pueblo, CO 81003. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sharon’s name to the Assistance League of Pueblo Operation School Bell or Sangre de Cristo Hospice to continue her legacy of caring and community service.
