Seth Monroe Whaley, 87, passed away July 7, 2003. Survived by his wife of 66 years, Lavina M. Whaley, of the family home; children, Thomas (Peggy) Whaley, Pueblo, Don (Kathy) Whaley, Colorado Springs, and Bob (Barbara) Whaley, Pueblo; sister, Lola Smid, Ft. Collins, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a number of good friends from his church and lodge. Born March 19, 1916, in Webb City, Missouri and was a longtime Pueblo resident. Seth retired from the Pueblo Army Depot as Chief of Quality Assurance and was involved with the development of programs for the U.S. Army. He was also a Colorado real estate broker. Member of the Broadway Christian Church, Silver State Lodge # 95, AF & AM, Pueblo York Rite Bodies where he was past High Priest and Past Deputy Commander, Southern Colorado Consistory, Open Heart Association, St. Charles Mesa Sanitation District, and St. Charles Mesa Fire District. He will lie in state at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2003, at Broadway Christian Church, 206 Broadway, with the Reverends Wayne Ward and Hal Hartman officiating. Interment and Masonic Rites will follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens.

Perhaps GOD has only keepers in heaven and none that got away..As we get older, I am thankful that only the good memories are the ones that stay with us.. and many good memories come to the forefront when I think of all the time and patience that both of you nurtured us with during the trips ‘up the river’..We will stop by the house again when we visit Pueblo..love from our family…we will offer our masses for Seth……….rick and linda
