Sarah A. 'Sally' Maggart, 80, passed away Oct. 17, 2013. Survived by her husband of 49 years, Roger; children, Karl B. (Kay) Shafer, Martin L. (Cindy) Shafer; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, George A. and Marguerite Pettit; and siblings, Charles S. Pettit and Susan G. Pettit. Sally was born in Colorado Springs on March 26, 1933. She graduated from Centennial High School in 1951, and retired from the Board of Water Works after 23½ years of service. She was past president and an active member of Pueblo Charter Lions Club. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at First United Methodist Church, 310 W. 11th Street, with the Rev. Dr. Rick Calhoun officiating. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of food and flowers, memorials may be made to Pueblo Charter Lions Club Sight Conservation Fund through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors, 1317 N. Main St., Pueblo, CO 81003.   1. Sally was a true friend and a wonderful person. I have many fond memories of evenings spent together playing the teasing siblings. She will truly be missed.

  2. Dear Roger and Family, very sad to hear that Sally passed, I knew her and you Roger for the many years because I had the honor or caring for your dear mother Geraldine at the chateau. Sally was kind hearted and very loving and could always make me smile, her persona was strong and positive and she looked like she could take on the world! She was like one of the beautiful roses you grew in your garden Roger and I looked forward to our visits when you came to see your mother. I will miss her hugs and her feisty attitude, god bless you Sally wherever this next journey in your life takes you I no you will be helping someone in need. And to you my dear friend Roger, I pray the dear lord keep you safe and in good health. please no you will both always hold a very special place in my heart. God bless you both.

  3. Lion Sally was an awesome lady and was always there to support when anyone needed it. She cared about everyone she knew and welcomed you with open arms. She is and will always deeply missed!!

    I am so sorry for your loss. Sally was always friendly and smiling and made countless people feel welcome at any event. I will truly miss her smile in future photos. However, when someone remembers her kindnesses and smiles, then we’ll see her spirit shine.
