Samuel 'Sam' Neal Kostos

Samuel 'Sam' Neal Kostos, 89, passed away in the morning at Bruce McCandless Nursing Home on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, in Florence, Colo. He was born June 16, 1926, to George and Erma (Robinson) Kostos in Thedford, Neb. on July 16, 1950, he married Helen (Argys) of Salida, Colo. Sam served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the Army Depot Activity after 35 years of service and from 7-11 Convenient Stores after 20 years of service. Sam was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. Member of St. John's Greek Orthodox Church. Sam is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helen (Argys) Kostos; his son, Harry Kostos of Pueblo, Colo.; two grandchildren, Heather Jones (Garret) of Austin, Texas and Nick Kostos of Pueblo, Colo.; three great-grandchildren, Landyn, Korbyn and Nolan Jones of Austin, Texas; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Erma Kostos; his son, George Samuel Kostos; one brother, Pete Kostos; and one sister, Kathryn Sweeny. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, in the Montgomery & Steward Funeral Chapel, Pueblo.
