Sam 'Jo-Jo' Geonetta, Jr. Just five days shy of his 102nd birthday he passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Sam was born on April 24, 1913, to the union of Salvatore and Josephine Geonetta and passed away on April 19, 2015. He was employed and retired from the CF&I Open Hearth after 45 years of service. Sam enjoyed spending time with his family and enjoyed living his life to the fullest. He was an avid sports fan especially of the Colorado Rockies, where he was honored on his 100th birthday. Sam enjoyed reading everything he came in contact with and enjoyed crossword puzzles and word searches. His favorite thing was to get into his 1959 Studebaker and travel to the Pueblo Mall every day and meet his friends as he said to solve the world's problems. There he was given the name of the 'Mall Wizard.' Sam was married to his first wife, Josephine and his second wife Anna, whom both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Josephine, Freddie, Mary, Congetta, Tony and Rose. Sam was the youngest of his siblings. He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Pete Bonfiglio; niece, Rose Marie Alfonso; nephew, Sam Giarratano; and sister-in-law, Josephine 'Dee Dee' Perricone. He is survived by his niece and care giver, Rosalie Bonfiglio; along with the Anthony Bonfiglio family and the Nicholas Alfonso family; numerous nieces and nephews also survive through five generations. Sam was a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Church, Elks Lodge, Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph Lodge of Pueblo. The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the office of Dr. Laurence Jensen and his devoted staff for their care of him for the past 30 plus years as well as Dr. Sharon Kessler and her devoted staff. We would also like to thank Life Care nursing staff and Spring Bridge Therapy Unit for their unconditional loving care. Family visitation and viewing, 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 23, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Friday, April 24, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 414 W. 11th Street.
