Sam Anselmo, 81, passed away Sept. 28, 2004, in Pueblo, Colorado. Survived by his children, Carole (Dr. Larry) Walls and Sam F. (Barbara) Anselmo; granddaughter, Shellie Chiaramonte; great-grandson, Joshua Chiaramonte; grandchildren, Anita Walls, David Walls and Susan (Mike) Bayer; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Justin and Ryan Bayer; brother, Mike (Martha) Anselmo; brother-in-law, Fred Pisciotta; special and devoted aunt, Rose Lee Pisciotta; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary V. Anselmo on March 5, 2004; parents, Frank and Josephine Anselmo; brother, Frank Anselmo; sisters, Vera Pisciotta and Mary Ann VanZandt; and many other beloved family and friends. Sam was born August 27, 1923, in Pueblo. He served with the United States Navy during World War II and was a United States postal carrier for 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, loved football, was a meticulous carpenter and was well liked by everyone who knew him. Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the family present from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday, October 1, 2004, at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 11th St. and Grand Ave., with the Reverend Father Ben Bacino as celebrant. Military honors by the U.S. Naval Reserve of Ft. Carson and the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team, and entombment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
