Russell Willard Dean, 90, born July 22, 1916, in Brown County, South Dakota, passed Nov. 24, 2006, in Pueblo, Colo. Graduated High School Stratford, South Dakota, Attended Hamlin University, St. Paul, Minnesota, Northern State Teachers College Aberdeen, South Dakota and Northwestern University Evanston, Illinois. Graduated with Masters Degrees in Accounting and Business Administration. Served four and one half years in the United States Army during WWII, attaining the rank of Captain in 1946, prior to being Honorably Discharged. Successfully completed the Certified Public Accountant Exam and Civilian Pilot license requirements in 1949. Worked in Clark and Dean Accounting Firm and Mcglaulin Accounting Companies in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Continued his Government Service with the Bureau of Land Management and United State Forest Service until his retirement in 1976, from the Pike-San Isabel National Forest. Preceded in death by his son, David and first wife, Marjorie. Survived by his wife, Vera Dean; sons, Neil and James; grandchildren, Leslie and Eric, Melissa and David; daughter-in-law, Sue Dean; stepchildren, Linda and Janice; and grandchild, Amanda.
