Guestbook

  1. The world to those who knew Russ E., “Bear,” will never be the same. We will miss his sense of humor, tremendous reservoir of information, keen mind, quick wit, his love of family and friends, his appreciation of nature, enjoyment of history, his travel stories, his strength, his enhusiasm, his integrity, his leadership, his deep, deep voice, his tender heart and kindness. Condolences to all who knew him. May his next journey exceed all that he has known thus far. He is already missed.

  2. Sincere condolences to the entire DeSalvo family. It was because of Russell,s wisdom and consoling me that i remained working as a Pueblo County Deputy Sheriff back in 1973. I had received a severe eye injury while working as a deputy, and contemplated getting out of the profession all together. One evening while enjoying a sociable drink together,i told Russ about my intentions of quitting. He pulled his chair closer to me and told me: “Look EL if anything we need more Sheriff’s that think like you,you are known among the Lawyers as a sheriff that enjoys doing for people not to them, also you do not lie while testifying in court, that’s rare anymore. Look into your heart, and ask yourself if you like what your doing, then decide if you really want to quit or not” I did that and stuck with it for 16 years+. I will always remember Russell as a gentle giant with a thunderous laugh, and iron grip handshake, but most of all for his gigantic kind heart and expert legal advise he provided to me,and all as a friend. No legal fee’s! I will remember Russell DeSalvo in my nightly prayers for as long as i have breath. May he Rest in Peace. Elberto (EL) Lopez
