Roy E. Hodges, 102, lifetime farmer and rancher in eastern Pueblo County, was born in Wellington, Kansas, on Oct. 7, 1903, and passed away at the Sharmar Chateau in Pueblo, Colorado on Mar. 3, 2006. He was preceded in death by wife, June D. Hodges, 1977; by grandson, Adam Roy Hodges, 1990; and by wife, Ruth Siegle Hodges, 1997. He is survived by his son, Jerry Roy (Gladys) of El Paso; grandchildren, Randy Roy (Gwenn) of Colorado Springs, Jan Robinson (David) of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, Holly Goldman (Richard) of North Andover, Massachusetts, and Cary Jay (Jamie) of Denver. His descendants further include great-grandchildren, Amy Hodges, Anna Mekeel, Jesse Goldman, Dylan Goldman and Caleb Hodges. Over the years Mr. Hodges served his community in various ways: as member of the Boone School Board, member of the County Agricultural and Stabilization Committee, and Mayor of Boone. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 11, at First Baptist Church, 405 W. 9th Street. According to Mr. Hodges' wishes, in place of flowers the family respectfully suggests that contributions be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund. Private family interment.
