Roy B. Wheeler, 89, passed away May 22, 2004. Survived by his wife, Thelma, of the family home; daughters, Carol Ann Wheeler of Pueblo and Janet (Don) Honey of La Junta; grandchildren, Jace (Lesli) Honey, Keo (Jennifer) Honey, Cassie (Brian) Elder and Rory Wheeler; and 10 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, and two sisters, Ruth Bode and Ethel Fishback. Born to Oscar and Mary Wheeler, August 24, 1914, in Pueblo. Roy and Thelma were married on July 4, 1941, and celebrated 63 years of marriage. They were former residents of La Junta, where Roy was a member of Euclid Lodge #64, AF&AM. He worked for the Keebler Company as a cookie salesman until his retirement, was an avid Bronco fan, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. At his request, there will be no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 2004, at the First Presbyterian Church, 220 W. 10th, with the Reverend Suzanne L. D'Spain officiating. Those who desire may make memorials to First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund or Arkansas Valley Hospice through the funeral home.
