Romona “Mona” Watson, 98, passed away Jan. 7, 2021. Survived by son, Alvin L. “Chip” (Fran) Watson; daughters, Monty L. (Rick) Monett and Barbara “Barbie” S. (Roy) Studinski; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother, George Thomas; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband of 65 years, Alvin O. Watson; and son, James Thomas “Tom” Watson. Mona was born to Frank and Grace Thomas on Jan. 23, 1922, in Junction City, Kan. and worked as a secretary with the Arapahoe County DMV. She enjoyed working and building with her husband (they built three houses together), knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and collecting model houses and villages. Mona was a member of First Baptist Church in Englewood, Colo. She will be interred with her husband at 12:45 p.m. Jan. 21, 2021, at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Memorial service, 1:00 p.m. Jan. 23, 2021(Mona’s 99th birthday), at First Baptist Church, 3190 S. Broadway, Englewood. Memorials may be made to Love a Child, PO Box 60063, Ft. Meyers, FL 33906.
