Robert Lyle Bailey

Robert Lyle Bailey, 90, passed away Feb. 11, 2023. Survived by his wife, Barbara Jean; sons, Ronald (Mary), James (Kathi), Mark (Karen); stepson, Greg; and granddaughter, Stevie. Preceded in death by his wife, Loene Mae; stepdaughter, Kelly; grandson, Tory; and sisters, Vivian, Doris, Fern and Regis.
Bob was born Oct. 16, 1932, in Almena, Kansas. He served in the U.S. Army as a corporal and was selected for officer candidate training, but declined so he could return home and raise his family. He started his career at Beechcraft in Wichita, Kansas and continued his career in the aerospace industry working at Martin Marietta and McDonnell Douglas. During the ‘60s, Bob was involved in the NASA Skylab project and later was involved in other various aerospace projects throughout his career.
Bob enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his sons and grandchildren. After retirement, he also enjoyed Rving and international travel.
