Robert E. 'Bob' Ely, 88, passed away March 24, 2004, in Pueblo, Colorado. Survived by his wife, Lorraine Ely; children, Suzanne (John) Hart, Atlanta, Georgia, John (Barb) Ely, Omaha, Neb. and Joyce (Jim) Calhoun, Pueblo West; grandchildren, Kirk and Stephanie Hart, Susan and Nicholas Ely, Kelli and Morgan Calhoun; and great-grandchildren, Francesca and Hannah Hart. Robert was born Aug. 30, 1915, in Webster City, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII and retired from the Kirsch Company as a sales representative. There will be no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 10 a.m. Monday, March 29, 2004, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel with the Reverend Father Ephraim Radner officiating. I have many many wonderful memories of Bob…and “Rainie.” He gave me my first baseball bat–I still have it! And helped me ride my first horse in Polk City IA. The beautiful breadboard he gave us after a visit to Moberly is used often. And I know Chris and Jamie will never forget their first visit to meet their Colorado cousins (and the amazing “Soot”!)
