Robert E. Balleweg, 91, passed away June 17, 2017. Survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Alice Balleweg; children, Ken Balleweg, Bernard Balleweg and Lorri (Tony) Pimentel; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Rob Huguez) Balleweg, Olivia, Christopher and Grace Pimentel; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and three brothers. Bob was born to Lorenz and Julia Balleweg on September 5, 1925, in Pueblo, Colo. He was a veteran of WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge with the 75th Infantry Division and retired after 43 years from the U.S. Postal Service. Bob was an avid lover of nature, a master flower gardener, and a 68-year member of the Pueblo Elks Lodge. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward. Memorial service, 10 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel with Sister Marie Therese Summers officiating. Interment, 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Beulah Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Benet Hill Monastery, 3190 Benet Lane, Colorado Springs, CO 80921.   1. my condolences to the Ballewag family. I remember Bob very well. He and my dad would clear off the little pond in the Pueblo Mountain Park in Beulah so our two families could ice skate. we went to the same church and I have good memories of Bob and Alice, Ken, Bernie and Lori. he was a good man who lived a good life. RIP.

  2. Everything good I learned as a little boy growing up on Elizabeth Street came from men like Bob Balleweg. He was my mail carrier and my friend.
