Celebration of Life:

Robert D. “Bob” Aggson, age of 87, formerly of Pueblo, Colorado and late of Appleton, Wisconsin, passed peacefully at his home on Thursday morning, March 16, 2023. Bob was born in Iowa City, Iowa on January 31, 1936. He was a faithful Christian who loved America. As a young man, he entered the United States Army and was stationed in Germany for two years. He married Helen Geringer on December 17, 1954, in Raton, New Mexico, and together they raised five children. Over the years, Bob managed several retail stores in Colorado and Wyoming. After fifty-two years of marriage, Helen passed away. Later he met and married Marilyn Sobieski, and together they enjoyed fifteen lovely years.

Bob loved to play dominos and cards (especially Canadian Rummy) with relatives and friends. Many of those family and friends also enjoyed his cooking abilities. He was an avid television watcher and was often seen with the remote control glued to his hand. He enjoyed children and dogs and will be missed by his faithful companion, Cali Jo. Bob was a private pilot and enjoyed traveling. He also loved fishing, hunting, old barns and the beauty and song of cardinals.

Bob is survived by his loving wife: Marilyn; three children: Michael L. Aggson, John H. (Shelley) Aggson, and Shannon (John) Stanko; grandchildren, Nicole (Matt) Bowman, Tiffany (Cody Buzianis) Aggson, Jennifer (Marco) Barela, Jacob (Amy) Aggson, Jessica (Michael) Jones, Caynen (Rebecca) Wills, Nathan (Marissa) Wills, Ali Pryor, Zachary (Amanda) Dodson, Benjamin Dodson, Harlee Rae Aggson, as well as thirteen great-grandchildren. There are also five step-grandchildren. He also leaves behind Marilyn’s daughters: Chris Setser and Julia Nelson; and Marilyn’s siblings: Richard (Donna) Sobieski, Tom (Theresa) Sobieski, Carol (Robert) Miller-Bantom, John (Cheryl) Sobieski, Susan (Bob) Tracy, and Jean Sobieski; sisters-in-law, Ilene Matteson, Midge Montgomery, Diane (Steve) Sobieski; and a very dear cousin, Sandy Aggson.

Bob was preceded in death by his first wife Helen, sons Robert Aggson and Dean Aggson; a very special cousin and friend, Danny Aggson; and brother-in-law, Steve Sobieski.

Bob will always be remembered for being a tender hearted, ambitious, thoughtful, and generous man who was long admired for his quiet strength and humor.

Special thanks to Marilyn and her family, especially her sister, Jean, for the love and care they provided during Bob’s final months.

Guestbook

  1. Robin’s favorite memories of Bob (Pops) involve the funny antics, shared during hunting trips. Bob’s perfect comedic timing and short, but to the point, punch lines have, and will always, bring a chuckle to Robin’s soul.
He is considered a loved member of Robin’s family. He will be missed…
    Until we meet again Pop’s

  2. To Marilyn and all of the family:
Bob was a truly nice guy. The world was a better place because of his kindnesses, humor, and good will. Sincere sympathy and loving prayers are sent to hug you and sustain you during your time of mourning. God bless.

  3. I am so sorry for your loss. I remember him from 1970 when my dad (Bob Jones) managed the Tempo Department store. We hadn’t been in Pueblo very long as my dad passed away 6 months later, he was 46 years old. Mr Aggson made sure we were alright. My mother appreciated that very much! There were 6 of us kids and my mom at that time. Tough time! I am glad Mr. Aggson was there. God Bless the Aggson family!

  4. I’m so sorry for your loss😥I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers🙏God bless and comfort you all. Love and Prayers, Suzy Martin & Brian Hanson
