Rienhardt Ralph Bernhardt, 89, passed away Jan. 19, 2017. Survived by wife of 69 years, Ileen Bernhardt; children, Gregory (Susan Praeger) Bernhardt, Deborah Bernhardt, Valerie (Jeff Koiter) Bernhardt and Rebecca (Frank) Milinazzo; grandchildren, Sarah Bernhardt, Amanda Felthager, Ginny Bayes, Christopher Bernhardt, Wylie Bayes, James Wiseman, Rachel Mathews and Stephanie Milinazzo; great-grandchildren, Jacob Atencio, D'Angelo Bayes-Perez, Henry Wiseman and Hugh Wiseman; and 21 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by two sisters; seven brothers; grandson, Andrew Milinazzo. Ralph was born to Heinrich and Anna M. Bernhardt on Jan. 29, 1927, in Brush, Colo. and was career military having served in the Navy and retiring Master Sergeant from the Air Force after 24 years of service. He worked at Rocky Flats, enjoyed the Boy Scouts, playing the trumpet, hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing, dancing, loved airplanes, aviation, climbing Colorado fourteeners, traveling to Volksmarches in all 50 states and visiting 41 countries with his loving wife, Ileen. Ralph was a member of Colorado Mountain Club, Arvada Cultural Center docents, Spirit of Christ Parish in Arvada, Our Lady of the Meadows in Pueblo and docent of Wings over the Rockies Air and Space Museum. Rosary, 9:30 a.m followed by the Mass at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at Our Lady of the Meadows, 23 Starling. Military honors and interment, 2 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery.
