Richard Tanner Pressey, born Dec. 23, 1916, in Pueblo, passed away Dec. 18, 2009, in Portland, Ore. Graduated from Pueblo Centennial High School in 1933. Served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII as a pilot who flew B17s with the Eighth Air Force. After the war, he received his formal education as a marine biologist at University of Washington. He retired from U.S. Fish and Wildlife, working with salmon propagation.
Survived by his son, Kirk Pressey of Portland, Ore.; brother, Charles R. Pressey of Longmont, Colo.; numerous nieces and nephews, including Ruth P. McGuire and SW (Bev) Pressey III, both of Pueblo. Preceded in death by his parents, Sumner W. and Lulu T. Pressey; and brother, Sumner W. Pressey Jr. Services were held in Lake Oswego, Ore.
