Richard Martinez, 74, passed away March 8, 2023. Survived by devoted life partner, Judy Stefanich; brothers, Jess (La Vonne) Garcia and Victor (Debbie) Martinez; sisters, Esther (Richard) Gonzales, Rosemary Martinez and Linda (Jack) Valdez; children, Rick (Sonia) Martinez, Robert Martinez and Christina Martinez; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family. Preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Micaela Garcia Martinez; and niece, Michelle Williams. Richard was born January 8, 1949, in Holly, Colorado. Richard worked as a network administrator for Avaya and IBM, was an owner and dance instructor at Pueblo Dance Company. He also taught dance at Sangre de Cristo Arts Center and the YMCA. He gave private and group lessons and taught line dancing. Richard was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 145 and YMCA. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023, at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 2561 Vinewood Ln., Pueblo, CO. There will be a reception in the church hall, directly following the service.   1. Terry and I have precious memories of Richard’s patient teaching, his calm demeanor, and smile. We are thankful for the times we had together – mostly at the Arts Center. Thank you for the memories. So sorry for your loss.

  6. Richard danced his way into our hearts and into our lives and we’re all the better for it. He made us dance and made us laugh, what a legacy! I’ll miss his ready smile and wonderful attitude.

  7. Judy, my prayers and thoughts are with you. I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many wonderful memories of Richard, on and off the dance floor. I learned so much about dancing from him. I’ve always loved dancing but he made it so much fun with his sense of humor. I always loved the stories he told on a break in class.
