Richard L. 'Dick' Covey, 77, passed away April 21, 2006, in Pueblo, Colo. Survived by his wife, Phyllis E. Covey of the family home; children, Diane (Floyd) Roach of Blair, Okla. and Gina (Dr. Wallace ) Ward of Burley, Idaho; stepmother, Helen M. Covey of Deming, N.M.; grandchildren, Sean Roach of Blair, Okla., Ann (Pedro) Canales of Amarillo, Texas, Jack Roach of Edmond, Okla., Katherine (Mark) Munt of Salt Lake City, Utah and John Ward of Denton, Texas; sister, Susan (Robert) Moon of Grand Junction, Colo., brother-in-law, Ralph Leonard and sister-in-law, Judy Covey, both of Arvada, Colo. Many treasured nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Jamie and Carrie Covey; brother, Garry V. Covey; and sister, Joyce Leonard. Dick was born on January 11, 1929, in Pueblo. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Dick retired as a market analyst from Rocky Mountain Steel (formerly CF&I). Dick was a 'Super-Dad' for many reasons but especially for his involvement with his daughters' Scouting trips. He enjoyed photography and woodworking. Dick's special passion was his volunteer work at Sangre De Cristo Hospice and St. Mary Corwin Hospital. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 11 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2006, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 107 E. Routt Ave., with the Reverends Tom W. Peacock and William G. Cooper officiating.
