Raymond Hughes

Raymond Hughes, 50, passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2023. He was born on August 29, 1973, in Rocky Ford, Colorado. Preceded in death by his grandfather “Gramps,” Raymond Burgess; grandmother “Gran,” Madge “Peggy” Burgess; aunts, uncles, and two cousins.

Raymond is survived by Joni Hecker and her family; son, Russell (Tara) Hughes; mother, Becky Hughes; sister, Melanie Casey; one niece; one great niece; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Raymond graduated from Job Core for Welding. He moved to Dalhart, Texas, and worked in Agriculture then returned home to Colorado and pursued a career as a long welder at CS Winds/Vestas and was employed for 10 years.

Raymond enjoyed cooking for himself and others using his barbeque/smoker. He enjoyed listening to music on his stereo and enjoyed having wood fires at night with Joni and their fur babies. He loved playing pool and target shooting with his son, Russell. He loved being with Joni and their family at gatherings and always enjoyed the time he shared with the grandbabies. He also liked hanging out with a few close friends and attending races and concerts. There will not be a service. Cremation in the Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. A “Celebration of Life” TBD at a later date.
