Raymond E. Thompson, 78, passed away Feb. 6, 2004, in Pueblo, Colorado. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Philomena; children, JoAnn (Joe Hubersberger) Thompson and Janet (Howard) Short, both of Aurora, Colo., Cheryl Thompson of Denver, Judith Thompson and Ellen Thompson, both of Pueblo and Ray (Gina) Thompson of Lakewood, Colo.; siblings, Floyd of Port Townsend, Wash., Lester of Long Lake, Minnesota and Loucella Van Overbeke of Marshall, Minnesota; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. Ray was born July 29, 1925, in Clements, Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Army and Air Force during and after WWII. Ray and Philomena married June 28, 1952, in Omaha, Neb. In addition to his family and work as a floor craftsman, Ray enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid reader. Viewing at the funeral home today from 1 until 6 p.m. Scripture service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2004, at Holy Family Church, 2827 Lakeview, with Deacon Steve Lumbert officiating. Military honors by High Frontier Honor Guard and Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Online condolences, www.montgomerysteward.com
