Ralph A. Stefano, 85, passed away on February 4th, 2023, in Pueblo, Colo. surrounded by family, after a relatively short stint in the hospital.

He is loved and survived by his wife of 66 years, Judy Stefano; daughter, Renee (Sam) Simmons; grandchildren, Michael Stefano (Sonya Head), Mario Stefano (Stephanie), Kristie (Steve) Garcia, Kaylee Simmons (Derek Brown), Anthony Stefano, and Jenna Simmons (Julian Barros); great-grandchildren, Blake and Britlee Brown, Dayton and Charleigh Garcia, and Mikey Stefano; and his two cousins that were like his brothers, Tony (Karen) Spicola and Louis (Arlene) Spera.

Ralph was born in Pueblo, Colo. in 1937 to Ana (Spicola) and Benjamin Stefano. He served in the United States Navy for 4 years and retired from the Rocky Mountain Steel Mill as a Rod Mill foreman after 44 years. He enjoyed spending an afternoon on the golf course with his son and grandkids, or an evening on the dance floor with his wife and granddaughters, but most of all he loved spoiling his dog, Dillon. He enjoyed spending his weekends watching football whether it was the CU Buffalos or the Denver Broncos, and was very excited about the new coaches of both teams. Ralph was truly loved by all that knew him and will be deeply missed. He was welcomed at heaven’s gates by his long-time friends, Geno Tresso and George Shaddy but most of all reunited with his boy Rodney.

Cremation by Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. It was Ralph’s wish to not have services but that all condolences can be received online.

  1. Judy,
Our hearts are heavy to hear the news of Ralph’s passing. We are mourning alongside you and keeping the Stefano family in our prayers and thoughts.
Ralph meant the world to me. He was like a second father always there for me. He assisted whenever I needed to make critical decisions, he celebrated my victories and consoled me in my defeats. I will profoundly miss him; however, he left me with rich and beautiful memories that I will forever cherish.

  10. To Judy and Family,
Ralph and I were class mates at Keating and Central High, Class of 1955. The next 44 years we spent at CF&I college and working together at the new (1996) Bar Mill for our last 5 years! When we Graduated from CF&I (oregon steel ugh) the only thing I missed were friends like Ralph, Ox, Frank, Wally, Leland, the Golobs (all class of 1955) and so many more.
I am so very sorry for your loss, He will be missed!

  11. Judy and Family:
So sorry for your loss. Such a dear man, and big-hearted person. We all go way back a long way, as friends, always considered you all family, and always will. Ralph is at peace now, and with his loved ones who passed before him. One day we will join them all in heaven. May God give you comfort and strength for the rest of your time here on earth. Rest in peace Ralph!!!

  12. In behalf of all of the remaining members of Ralph’s Pueblo Central High School class of 1955, we wish to express first to Judy, to Ralph’s entire family and finally to his many close friends our sincere condolence and deepest sympathy. Indeed, he was well liked. He loved attending our 60th class reunion back in 2015. I spent some time with Ralph and Geno, reminiscing those ’55 days, wondering how 60 years could have disappeared so quickly. All of us will miss him.

  13. Heartfelt condolences dear Judy and family.
